I belong to several different sites. Sometimes I don't have time to visit all. Perhaps a lot of people while away their time on Facebook.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Scrolling with Parkinson's ?

I'm 79 with neuropathy in my hands and feet. I'm left handed and my left hand has tremors but I can still scroll. I think the worst that can happen is for the blade to nick a finger which is only minor. My hands are supported by the table making the hand steady.

I use HF foot switches on several things in addition to my scroll saw. I use them on a router table, on my Foredom and drill press. I DO NOT use the on/off type. Use the normally off type. They are great and inexpensive.

The key chain is interesting. What material are you using? 1/8" BB or similar?

I discovered I had the same problem when cutting kiddie puzzles. My problem was pushing the work to the side unknowingly.

I'm a new scroller. I recently acquired two older Hawks, a 220VS and a 14" Hawk. I'm 78, retired and my interests are amateur machining, pen turning and riding my CanAm tryke. I still repair clocks full time. Don't know what I can contribute but love to learn.
