International shipping charges are killer. Call Ray at seyco next time he may have the parts you need just not listed on the site. Or maybe even the parts from his saw may fit the ex saw pending what parts you need.

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Re: peel and stick
« on: November 30, 2017, 10:47:45 pm »
I have found that the peel and stick is great on hard wood.  I did 4 puzzle dogs on poplar and not one lift.

I have found that on Baltic birch and pine that if close cuts it has a tendency to lift up.  See pic for issue.

So I selectively use peel and stick.

Baltic birch can be rough, pine can be too did you sand it smooth to see if it helps stick better, just make sure it clean of sawdust, I use my air compressor blow gun and blow off anything I sanded before applying patterns to make sure it s good clean surface to stick to.

I found the owners manual for it https://www.manualslib.com/manual/796316/Delta-Ss350.html most of us use pinless blades, they are better for making tighter turns and the holes drilled for the blades is smaller to insert the balde into the wood.

Make your own sanding blades, cut strips of sandpaper what size you want but go double width so you cut one at 1/2 inch fold it half mount it up in the clamps and start sanding. I can tell you I tried this adn went to slow speed to about half speed it does work, but a big PIA you pretty are going back like you are cutting and if its alot of inside cuts its well........you get the picture.

Go to harbor freight get some needle files to sand the inside cuts if needs be its what I did just cleaned the really noticable spots.

When I stacked cut I used a number 1  FD either scroll reverse or ultra reverse pending on the wood and how thick it was in the stack. Using a reverse blade it cuts the bottom on the up stroke reducing the tear out.

Yahoo is the worst to have its too easy to be hacked they have poor security. Even think last year yahoo released they had a massive account breach. I closed and deleted anything I had to do with yahoo. I use hotmail or outlook mainly and have had only one issues in the past about 15+ years of having it.

I had the same issue when I first started scrolling. What I did was turn the speed of the saw, for some reason if saw was running fast I would try to cut fast, and slowing the speed caused me to go slower. This helped me alot in my control as I got better I increased the saw speed till I could go at full speed.

Some also say look just a tad ahead of the blade when cutting not right at where you are cutting, looking just a tad ahead byt the time it take to make that curve and your brains sees it, and then tells you to turn you already making the turn.

Make up shapes curves and turns and pratice on scrap or some cheaper wood till you get the hang of it. It will take time but once you learn it it all comes second nature.

I used 220 for my final, used think was 120 to help smooth it out then did 220 but was just better to stay with 220 before and after, after was just to clean up the back and get rid of any residue from taping on the pattern.

Blade is not 90 degrees to the table, a trick is take a scrap cut thats tall enough to fit under with it being hit with the saw running, cut into just deep as the balde is thick, then move it behind the blade if the blade slides in the same cut you made in front the blade is 90 degrees to the table if not make slight adjustments and keep trying, or find a small square and check it.

I use those full sheet shipping labels, get 100 of them on amazon for 20 bucks, print and stick. They are really hard to peel off unless I use a hair dryer softens the glue and it peels right off, leave very little residue nothing a light hand sanding won't take care of.

I used the painters at first, it does great but at times can lift off or stick to well and on luan peel off the veener, I have ruin good projects due to this, shipping labels I have not ruined one yet since the hair dryer softens it to let it peel right off.

I have used veenered cheap thin plywood, sometimes its good other times I have had to scrap a whole project after I spent hours cutting it out only to have the tape pull the veneer off due to the close cuts. Just depends how good the veneer is glued down.

Baltic birch can be sanded smooth just do go crazy with it. I sanded all my baltic birch before applying a pattern, helped pattern stick plus it glides on the table better. I used a 220 grit to smooth it out.

When it breaks or gets dull and having to push wood instead of blade cutting it, sometimes I change them out sooner if I feel like the blade is not cutting right or getting hard to control. I have changes balde back to back if I don't the new one due to it being bad even though its new.

Pretty much that same as excalibur. Excalaibur stopping their saws and think this company is still making them. In the US we can not get excalibur saws anymore but there other companies that make ones that are just like them.
