This is one Steve's patterns that I cut out of 1/2" maple and painted flat black for a customer's grandchild that loved cats . This was the first one of these I have ever cut , any comments welcome .........

I have done a couple but saved some money and used MDF scraps.
They make nice, easy, quick gifts!

I know at that time I didn't even think about MDF and I wish I"d used it too . But if I make anymore that's what I'll use - for I have a bunch of it ............
