Very nice.  The finish looks great.

What finish do you use?  I am new to Intarsia and I am not sure I like the gel finish JGR uses.

Don,
This is how I finish my pieces.
1st I glue the entire piece together & install the backer
I "dip" the piece in lemon oil - this helps bring out the color & helps hide any of the fine sanding scratches - allow to dry for a day
I than spray a gloss poly on the piece- 3 coats on the face & 2 coats on the back. Steel wool between coats. I have been doing this process for a couple of years. The spray poly i use is a cheap Rustolum clear gloss from Lowes. About 3.50 a can (I like the cheap price sense I buy by the case)

I never have liked the wiping gels

Thanks

I will try next time.  If your piece has Aspen do you dunk in lemon oil?

I saw you pieces on Intarsia Nuts and the Snowman and Owl are on the Honey Do list.
