Am I In BIG Trouble
« on: July 22, 2014, 12:01:53 pm »
Got to researching scroll saws again this morning and got carried away.  I ordered a new scroll saw!

Seyco had the 21 inch Excalibur with foot peddle, stand and free shipping for $880.  I don't really need the stand nor the foot peddle but it was cheaper to buy it that way then to buy without and pay shipping/insurance.

Hope I can sell the DeWalt!

How do I tell my wife??????????

Rob and Keith none of the above will work in the short to long time, you will have to just tell her straight and take it like a man?????? :'( :'(

To all you youngsters.  My sweet, caring, wonderful Wife and I are married 52 years, on our way to 75.  (If we are not hit by falling space junk before that.)

As far as how do you tell your wife, I suggest that you call her from your workshop, where you will be living for quite some time.

HEY, I thought some one would at least say, Congrats on your new saw, you will love it...  or are you all just laughing at me for buying it??? :-\

Paul once you are out of hospital, think about keeping both saws.  I did and they both get used, if I am making something that needs a couple of blade changes I have one in each saws and just switch seats.  You will find that you like both for different reasons.

Tell her you are so excited about this project you found and just HAVE to build for her.  It is going to be a real labor of love unfortunately in order to do it right you had to have a professional grade saw.  Then you saw this amazing deal and jumped on it.

Or just buy her jewelry and shoes and purses for about the same amount ;D

Honestly I tell my wife when I buy something, and she does the same, but neither of us needs the other's permission.  It's worked for 40 years.

Congrates on the new saw  :) About that wife thing, 50 years and I still cringe and wonder about acceptance. But then I figure I don't swear, drink, gamble, or chase women - A guy has to have some fun in life; even if you have to stay in the shop.  ;) ;) ;)   And oh yes, Marg is right - keep both saws- if not to switch back and forth then to have if one is being repaired.  Brian

congrats for sure.
just a rookie here, only 27 years married.
but just offer her to buy something for the double amount of money, just because you love her.
she will say, OFF COURSE NOT, YOU FOOL....
tell her she earns it ;)
tell her how special she is and keep pushing her on some gifts.
then that will be the subject for the next couple of day's...
and probably your new saw is out of the line of fire....  ::) ::)

don't think it will work, but it's worth the try....
you're in trouble anyway  :o
hahaha
