Granddaughter

It's been quite a while since I posted any of my projects. I made this Intarsia for my granddaughter, it is a design by Kathy Wise. I realize that I still have a lot of room for improvement, but I truly enjoy the effort. I am and continue to be inspired by all the wonderful creations posted here.

The drape of the material is great, hard to make wood flow like that.
The muscle structure of the arms and legs, the curve of the back, the way the head tucks under the hat, all magnificent!
The determined look on Her face tops it all.

Your Granddaughter will cherish this forever.

You really brought those pieces of wood to life. Thank you for inspiring me!

I think Jay(scrolldown) said it perfectly, you have brought the wood to life, your grandaughter will love it. Personally I think it's a fantastic peice of work

I would like to personally thank everyone for your kind and encouraging remarks. This particular piece has been the biggest challenge I have  attempted. Honestly, I wasn't sure how it would turn out. I'm glad there is a place where a scroller can present his/her work to other scrollers and be assured of receiving honest feedback...thanks!

Beautiful work Louis. Being a brand new newbie, I can't wait for my new saw to arrive (back ordered). I have a lot of learning to do after viewing the work and info on this site.
