Remember, "Women's Lib?"
« on: June 06, 2010, 09:50:51 am »
A women's lib speaker was addressing a large group and said,
"Where would man be today if it were not for woman?"
She paused a moment and looked around the room. "I repeat, where would man be today if it were not for woman?"
From the very back of the room came a male voice,

"He'd be in the Garden of Eden, eating strawberries."

I remember a few years back when I worked part-time for a inter city hospital. I worked in Security. Fire is a big deal in a hospital, which it should be. Plus I worked as a Front Line Captain at Station #11. Well, I was detailed in ER one night on a combative patient. And there was a couple of ladies that worked for another Ambulance Service, here in Terre Haute. They were making a transport, from this hospital, to one in Indy. This guy was a very big guy. They tried to put him into the back of the Squad, but where not strong enough. So one of the Medics came in and asked me if I would help. My response was " I would love to, but I'm a firm believer in Womens Lib. Go do it yourself". The look on her face was worth a million bucks.   Now before you ladies get mad, I did help get the PT. into the Squad. and off they went.  The moral to the story. Watch what you ask for, you might just get it.

I am all for womens lib.  I have female's working for me and they try to pull the "But I am a woman" card all the time.  Well they get equal work and equal pay.  All I see is a sailor in uniform.  If you cant handle the job then get a new one.

In the mid 80's I had a woman firefighter as my partner. She was 6' 2" and could do the job as good as any man. Never had a problem with her watching my back.  8)

If it was not for us women, you men would get lost.  We know how to read directions and maps.  we raise the children and keep you fed.  We do your laundry and keep your house.  And even mow your yard as long as there is a ridin mower that works.  I will not let Jaun or anyone else mow my yard.  It is my way or no way.  LOL.
I will get back into the swing of things, this is the best I can do for now.  Just catching up.  I will get ya Ed.

But if you didn't have a GPS, would you stop and *ask* for directions?  ;)

About 40 years ago I was a Deputy Sheriff when women full duty officers were pretty rare.
Back then we would do "Bar Checks". The patrons would gawk a little and then watch to see which bathroom I went to.  I had the advantage in a fight because they would hesitate to hit a woman. Oh the stories I could tell  ;D
I wouldn't be in law enforcement now for all the tea in china.  Seems the criminals have all the rights.
