I>U> Med tomorrow
« on: June 03, 2010, 10:42:55 pm »
Ive got to go to IU Med tomorrow to an ENT Doctor for a second opinon. About 2 weeks ago a Doctor here in Terre Haute diagnosed me having Pre-Malignant Cancer of the Larynx. Talk about freaking you out>>>>>I guess I'm telling you all this because I fell like you all are my 3rd family. My first being my wife, daughter, step-son, and 3 gandchildren. My 2nd being the Men & Women of the Terre Haute Fire Dept. (144 of them). And the 3rd being You all here. Pretty scary when you think about it. Which I really don't. (thats really not ture). But my wife, God love her. She has been on the internet, and talking to friends of hers, that work at a local hospital. Trying to find out all she can. Just wanted to let you know. Don't want nobody to worry. It's just a bummer, being this close to retirement, and something like this happens. Oh well. I guess it could be worst. Dave 8)

Wow. That is a heavy load on your shoulders and I am not sure what to say. I do know you are right about this being like a family. I think those of us who have been going to Steve's blog have felt his passion for scrolling and enjoyment in helping others in the art of scrolling. That has carried on here in this forum in a wonderful way. People from all around the world have joined. Some, have to use a translator to post. So something about the membership is special. Kind of like a family. So as a brother member, you are someone special and I will be the first to say we are here to support you in any way we can. I wish you the best. Keep us posted, and let us know if there is any thing we can do.
 :)  :)  :)
P.S. One more thing, I will keep you in my prayers.

Great news today. Went to I U Med Center. I had a very young Doctor. His name is Michel Moore. He is a ENT Cancer Specialist, & Surgeon. He examined me very thorough. He came up with no cancer! I do have some damage to the vocal cords due to acid reflux. I told him that I don't get heartburn. He said that you don't need heartburn to have acid reflux. Man, what a load taken off my wife & I's shoulders. Close call. I was mis-diagnoised by 3 Doctors here in Terre Haute. I can't thank my wife enough for taking charge, and getting the answers that we needed. I want to thank you all for the well wishes & prayers. It's a lonely old world out there without family & friends. I am so fortunate to have so many, here, work, and at home. I am very blessed. Again, a BIG THANK YOU. Dave :)

P.S. LENINLEX. Your going to be in Terre Haute next week. Please stop by the Terre Haute Fire Dept. Front Office. I would love to meet you. I'll be there Monday-Friday. 8-4 Were at 25 Spruce St. on the banks of the Wabash. Dave

Very, very, very good news. I am so happy for you. Proves that a second, third and even a fourth opinion (examination) is needed.
