General Scroll Saw Talk / Excalibur saws

 why has everyone started saying Excalibur is the saw to have now? they are made in China,probably
the same building as Dewalt, their internal parts are basically the same as Dewalt. has anyone had any problems with knocking or any other stuff in their Excaliburs? thanks for your answers

 two yrs. ago when i was looking for a scroll saw, everyone was saying Dewalt was the best. now
most everybody is talking Excalibur. what turned you against Dewalt. i like my 788, but i'm not pleased with Dewalt. they have had this knocking problem ever since they came on the market &
they havent done anything about it. i also havent had any luck with tech support people.instead of trying to help me they just tell me to take it to a service center.

when i got home fri. night i had a message from my repair shop about my saw. had to wait till today to call back. said they had sent my saw to dewalt service center in Louisville. didn't know what was wrong but would take $110.23 to fix it. told them to go ahead & fix it, but save me the bad parts.
if it rains tomorrow i will pick it up, if not i will wait till Fri. more to follow later.

my 788 started knocking at all speeds. i tried all suggestions on Mikes site, nothing worked. today
i took it to a service center about an hour away. said it will take 2 to 3 weeks to get it back. will
tell what the problem was when they return it.

i bought some 1/2 inch thick Corian on e-bay today. can anyone give me some pointers on how it
cuts & sands. can it be glued with Titebond glue? i use FD blades & will have to order some from Mike. thanks for your help.

General Scroll Saw Talk / scrap wood

i get a lot of scraps from a cabinet shop. i have a lot of maple pieces that are 5/8" thick x
4-41/2" wide x 5-6" long. i hate to keep throwing this in the kindling box. any good ideas.
