Brag Forum / Re: New Scroll Saw Ornament Book

A nice looking book. I just viewed it on amazon.com. Also a very fair price for the book. It will be on my list of books for Christmas. You are good in making your patterns and so kind in your comments on our work we do. I hope you sell a lot of copies of this book and have a Merry Christmas this year. =)

I would love to see a good video on cutting intarsia. I have done a few projects but no matter how good I cut my pieces do not fit as nice as some of what I see on here. To see someone cutting different woods that fit perfectly together with some advice on this process would be super.

That looks nice. Perhaps when I get my garage turned into a cutting place I can try one of the military plates and use the flag print to back it. Thanks for sharing, I am sure your friend loved the item.

The rumor is that it is your birthday. I speculate that it is not your birthday, but rather the annual celebration of it. SO, happy celebration of the day you were born.  ;) Thanks for all your contributions to this forum that helps me so very much.

Maybe it's just me, but I refuse to use anything made of ground up babies! :o

So, does that mean you don't eat Girl Scout cookies either?

But truthfully I think the Baby Powder would be good.....talk about hot, here in AZ we are having a record heat wave and our monsoon weather humidity. So, this summer it is not just a dry heat...but 117 degrees with humidity on top of that.  :P

Thanks all for the great comments and the support. It is good to see so many other people of faith speaking out to encourage me. God is good and He has provided well in this whole circumstance of having to move and needing a job. It is taking some time to get things organized and I miss my wood working, but even in the garage it is too hot this time of year to be cutting wood. So by the time I get things organized it will have cooled off a degree or two.

I can only imagine that lil guy's heart racing as he must have been wondering if climbing that cliff was such a good idea. He must have been so happy to have gotten to the top. Thanks for sharing. Good video.

Speaking of setting up a shop in the garage...I've heard some crazy talk lately that some people use their garages for CARS!  Doesn't seem like the best use of the space to me.

LOL, when you live in AZ and it is 115 degrees outside in the summer, you look for the best place you can to have a shop. We are in a rented house with a 2 car garage. My last house I had a covered patio. So, I figure I can use 1/2 the garage for parking if I want and the other half for wood working. But honestly, parking in the drive is good enough. If it were not for the garage I would have no place to do my work. Funny thing is, here in AZ a lot of people use garages for more than a car.

I will have to remember that one for when I am telling jokes at the school. I will be sure to tell other teachers that one on Monday.

Wow, that is sad news for you. I know it must be hard to have to quit, but health is important. What a legacy you have with all those years of work. I bet your family has a lot of nice projects you have made over those years, something that will last forever. Hope you find something that you enjoy to do other than cutting wood.

Glad to hear you are doing well. I too have had a rough couple of years and was gone for quite some time. Sounds like you had a great retreat in CO. I love that state. Lived in Colorado Springs for a few years when I was a kid. Good to see you on here and good for me to be back again too.

Yes, hope he is feeling more up than down. I know the feeling. Sometimes things in life can really try to crush us. Prayers for him that he is back and doing well.

I have not been on the forum in quite some time. This past few years has been pretty hard on my family. I have spent a lot of the past 2 years either unemployed or underemployed. Dedicated some time this past year towards studying for Computer IT Certification, took some courses and need to test for the Certification. Things were starting to look up and then my wife and I got a notice that we had to move from our rented house. The owner wanted it for his mother. We were told by the end of July to be moved out. That hit us hard, but God is good and had a better plan. We found a much better house to rent. It has 2 extra rooms which we will be leasing to a good friend who was also in need of a place to stay. While moving I sent out 3 emails to 3 different schools in the area. 2 days later I was hired by one of them. So, I am fully employed and living in a better house. While life had me down for so long....I am moving up rather fast. It is my hope that once I get settled in and my garage is empty of boxes I can set up shop and get back to making some things.
