Ornament Exchange - Dusty's great ornaments
« on: November 29, 2011, 11:54:59 am »
Hey there!
As Sheila couldn't wait and posted my contribution, I will join in and opened the big envelope Dusty has send me:

He has done a great job on these, the shapes are perfectly round like I never could make them.
The Angel is cut from some 1/8" red glass. The cuts are looking great on that one. He'll have to tell me his secret on how to archive that without ruin the glass.

Thanks Dusty!

They are awesome!  I wonder if he used a diamond blade to cut the glass one.  I have seen that done and it is a very slow and tedious process. They are all beautiful! :)

The angel is made out of acrylic.  I use Flying Dutchman blades, so the polar blade (a.k.a. skip tooth) is the one recommended for cutting acrylic. But I decided to use a 5 U.R. instead because it gave a much smoother finish on the edge and didn't cause problems with the acrylic sticking/melting back together.
