Preliminary REVIEW...Makita LCT208W Drill/Saw combo
« on: July 27, 2011, 10:28:52 am »
Received my new 12 volt drill/saw combo late yesterday.
Opened the box, which apparently came directly from the Makita refurb center and was just 're-shipped' by CPO.

It looks like Brand New except for the little sticker that tells it is a Refurb.
Carrying case is a vinyl 'cube' that looks like a semi-softside cooler.

First Impression....
I didn't even 'charge' the batteries and just hit the drill trigger. WOW! It almost jumped out of my hand with the torque generated. Nice little LED light that pretty much illuminates the the tip. I almost always use a magnetic bit holder so it will shine on the screw heads.
Everything is tight, works and is Very Comfortable in my big paw,

Next I checked out the little saw...3 3/8" carbide tip blade. Runs quiet, no louder than the drill. Also very comfortable in the hand. Just right for a quick cut of stock of 1" or less and will be very handy for me cutting things to scroll.

Full mfgr.'s warranty.

CPO Makita - $129.99 + 6.99 shipping. I happened to catch a special and got it for $20 off!

I will report more after I get to put it through its paces today.

~~~GB~~~
I never really wanted to grow up....All I wanted was to be able to reach the cookie jar...and play with my DW 788
