excelent work I wish I had 1/2 your talent,
Len Chachi nailed it, lots of practice and listen to the sounds your saw makes, it will talk to you.
I know when I'm cutting right because all I hear is the teeth biting. If it starts knocking I'm putting too much side pressure on the blade, that will also make the blade hot and burn the wood (you'll smell it), which will also over heat the blade and take the temper out of it. Next thing you know the blade is dull and you have to force it to cut.
I've also discovered the tighter the blade the truer it will cut. I don't go by sound that much. I tighten the blade until there is less than 1/16" play from vertical either way. If the blade is in a drilled hole it's pretty hard to make it ping, so that's how I set it up.
Works for me and I haven't broken a blade from doing it that way yet. You do need to stop and check the tension periodically as they do stretch.
Keep at it, if a worn out old fart like me can do it you can too, I've only been at it since this spring!!!!
To everyone else, thank you for your kind comments, I do appreciate them. Yours too Marion!

Living up to my name.
