I really like it a lot.  I have only used a really old craftman that probably cost $99 as it was a gift and at the Durham woodworkers club I have use a DW788 a couple of times.

I do not have the experience to say whether it is way better than Dewalt but working with the table flat and tilting the blades does seem easier.

So far I have cut a lot of pine, baltic birch and just this weekend did a couple of trivets in poplar.  I have really broken any blades so all is well.

Thanks Don for the answers on your saw. I ended up buying one last Friday. I see your you mentioned about not breaking a blade yet. I broke one on the weekend and at first wondered what just happened. I remember when I started out about 10-11 years ago, I started on a 16" SS Ryobi and when the blade broke, I darn near would fall off my stool. It was almost like a maching gun going off. How things have improved.
