Layered Butterfly
« on: March 01, 2011, 11:04:51 pm »
I made these butterflies this weekend. I stack cut the pieces and glued them together so they look different directions. Made from 1/8" baltic birch plywood. The pattern comes from a book called "simply wood" by roshaan ganief. The book is different then most of the scroll saw books that I have, hard to explain but something like more a "real woodworking" feel, rather then "craft projects". I actually skipped over it a few times at the bookstore not realizing that it was scroll saw related.

Looks very nice, I like the method to make the picture. I  like the protruding wooden, looses the whole on.

Excellent cutting.  I have that book but have not taken the time to cut that one.  That looks real good.  Thanks for sharing that with us.

Wow, Katie:
These are really cool!  I have never seen anything like this before.  I love the way you staggered the wood pieces. It gives it that 'artsy' look.  You really do amazing things!  I haven't had time to respond to lots of stuff here, but I had to give you a "woo-hoo" on this one!  You really hit the mark, girl! :D
