You need to jump on it ASAP.  Your craftsman was a great start but it is time to move up.  You will be amazed at the difference.

Dewalt scroll saws seem to be impossible to get in the UK. I am thinking of upgrading and was wondering about Hegner, any thoughts?

I found one on Craigslist 2 weeks ago and called the guy and drove 1.5 hrs each way the same afternoon to get it. Used very little. Came with stand. Mint condition. $150.00!! I love it! Had a ryobi before this..So, my advise? GO NOW and get it!

If you can swing it, do it. When I upgraded, it made scrolling a lot more fun and enjoyable.

Okay, I'll be leaving in about 30 minutes to look at the saw.  It's about an hour away (depending on traffic).  I should post next in about 2-3 hours.

Stay tuned.

GOT IT!

Went by, looked at it, tried it - worked fine.  Looks clean.  The fella I bought it from was happier with the Harbor Freight model he also had.

Now I have the saw to match my stool!  :D

Congratulations KarlB, I don't think you will regret it. Now your scrolling will be more enjoyable, and you will probably scroll a variety of projects.

I did not need a scroll saw either but as I watched Craigs List I saw one for sale with no price other than it was new in the box with a stand.  Never used.  No lowball offers accepted so I waited three weeks and it was still for sale so I offered the person 250 dollars (1/2 Price).  I got it and it was brand new in the box from woodcraft with a new stand also from woodcraft.  After cleaning all the oil off and setting it up I can not believe how nice it cuts compared to the Porter Cable I been learning on.
