Compound cut toys

(1/1)

Jim Finn:
I used an ornament pattern to make these toys.  I altered them a bit to beef them up and to turn a reindeer into a horse.  4" tall made from a 2x4.  Also made some Cross/fish nick-nacks. I have made  over 40 of these different items  now. Each takes about nine minutes, at the saw, to make.

spirithorse:
Great job, Jim!
May I request a copy of your alteration to make the 3D/compound cut horse, please?
God Bless! Spirithorse

eburk:
Jim, the only words I have to express my thoughts on these 3D cuttings is Wow that is a great idea.

Jim Finn:
After cutting this out on the scroll saw you have to make the tail narrower,  I do it by sanding it to size using my 1/2"rotary tool (Like a Dremel)  Adjust this pattern so the profile width is small enough to fit under your scroll saw arm at the bottom of it's stroke.  About 2" (plus or minus 1/4")

eburk:
Thank you Jim! Happy cutting.
