I am new to this but do not know what project to start first.
i was looking for some suggestions.

Hello Michael, welcome to the site.  I'm Marg from Hastings Vic Australia, small world isn't it?  When I first started I just got a colouring book and cut some simple shapes like a dog, sheep even a penguin then you can put magnets of the back and put them on the fridge. Then you can get progressively better and maybe get yourself a few books with patterns in, or google some silhouettes.
