great work, Charlie,
funny to see we all have different ways of cutting,
I would have cut out all the small parts first before cutting out the big parts.
anyway, your way is good, you make great projects.

Thanks everyone.  I cut the big parts out often for the sole purpose of making the whole piece lighter weight in order to move it easier.

Your ARE a MASTER Charlie....ALWAYS such a Wonderful Completion of so many Great Portraits. 
There just ARE NOT many people as Good with using a Scrollsaw and also Designing a Pattern

sounds real logical, I never have make this big projects,
almost never make projects bigger the 11x8, so wouldn't have guessed that. ;)
do you use extra support on the side of the table?

Yes sir.  I use roller stands to support the parts that hang over the edge of the table.

I'm new to scrolling and all I can say is WOW!!! your work is amazing. Do you make your own patterns? If so what software are you using? Do you have an opinion on coyote 3 software? I'd like to purchase it.

Charles - I've noticed in your gallery of projects two things.  First you don't use paper pattern glued to your blank. Do you hand draw each & why?  Secondly, one close up shot showed what looked like a spiral blade. Is that the blade of choice for your fine work? You've developed a lot of tricks & techniques that will take years of designer firewood on my part.  Thanks for sharing. Brian

Thanks folks.  I do my designs on paper and use paint shop pro 4 to make sure all the lines are clean and color it in.  I use carbon paper and trace the design (usually enlarged at rapidresizer.com).  I don't use the glue method because I use spirals and it seems to pull up the paper often.  Always done it this way and never used a flat blade in my life ;) It's finished now and is in this section.
