Good job Dustin!
I'm an old tightwad, so I use whatever is at hand.
I sand my table and wipe it down then spray on some Silicone Lube to saturate the surface let it stand or rub it in, then wipe it dry with paper towels. Living in Oregon we do get a little humidity
and this seems to work for me.
And it does make the surface slicker to reduce the friction.
Some say not to use it because it will get on your wood and screw up the finish when you go to stain and seal it.
I haven't had a problem with it, perhaps because I wipe it DRY after application.
I'm going to have to break down and get some real wax and give it a try. LOL
