One of the things I like is turning pens. I picked up a piece of coffee wood from Woodcraft because it had some nice grain. After cutting a piece for the pen and turning and finishing it, this is what was hidden inside. Maybe I need a new eyeglass prescription or to change my drinking habits, but I see aliens in there.

Hi Dan, I was at a wedding yesterday, (Sunday),and I'm having trouble seeing the pen, let alone aliens. I think there were some aliens at the wedding. Namely police officers, . All joking aside Dan, quite a spectacular pen,lovely job.

Keefie, I use a medium CA finish.

Not sure I see Aliens, but it looks good.   I tried Olive Wood from Bethlehem and it looked very similar to this.    Found a bit of it at Woodcraft.  It does smoke quite a bit when you drill into it ;-)
