I am amazed at some of the work done on these saws, congratulations to you all. The reason I bought one is to cut out the bits for my model boat construction. Up till now the jig saw and the file have made the bits, and the finishing took as long as cutting out. I am sure my parts will be much nicer from now.

Hi I'm Marcel,
a welcome from the Netherlands.
pretty sure that on some time you're gonna make other things on that saw then just parts for the boat. ::)
but love to see some of your stuff.

Modeling is a great fit for a scroll saw. It's amazing how the fast-moving blade polishes the piece as it cuts. Lots of hardwoods come off the saw looking like they've just been waxed. And some of the compound cuts leave you with a finished product right from the saw.

What model saw are you driving?

Hi , welcome to the forum, I'm Keith from Cornwall U.K.
It's always interesting to see other peoples work, so if you can, how about posting a pic of your boats (and any other projects you will soon be getting into with your new saw.)

In answer to an earlier post I have a Ryobi ESW 1240 RK which I bought second hand for $60 delivered, which think was quite good. It came with its kit of grinding and polishing wheels with their drive, but not the straight blade converters.
