Hi!! I actually stumbled upon Steve's videos on YouTube a few months ago and thought that I'd like to give it a try. Well, Santa was apparently listening and I found a new Ryobi 16" scroll saw under the tree this Christmas. After days of working in the basement and clearing a space, I now have an area for the saw to be placed. Now all I have to do is turn it on...
Normally, I work with many different crafts (knitting, crocheting, egg carving, pyrography, resin, etc...) so when I saw scroll sawing, I thought it would be something I could get into and possibly incorporate my other craft skills. I initially tried to hand carve wood in order to do a resin inlay but I about broke my hand trying to free hand with the Dremel. Then I tried to use my Turbo Carver, that I use for carving egg shells, but it didn't remove enough material in a reasonable amount of time (egg carving is ridiculously tedious to do...but I like it). So...I figured I give a scroll saw a try. Thanks Steve!!
Anyway...here I am!
