Weekend Project

Made
this
yesterday. It is a Steve Good pattern that I modified. I extended the bottom and added a "catch" tray for the gumball/candy to fall into. Routed the edges a little, made from re-cycled pallet hardwood. Still needs a little sanding, not sure how I want to finish it. Let me know what you think.

Nicely done Dan. Thanks for sharing it with us. I personally would use an oil such as tung or blo to do the finish and leave the color as natural as possible.

Very nice. I also like the modification, you don't want your candy to run away from you.

great work, just remember to buy gumballs to match any colour you paint it, you don't want the colours to clash lol.

Nice, I saw the pattern. I actually have a candy jar similar to this one. Got it over 20 years ago from someone. Nice work and thanks for sharing.

Finished it today, tung oil with 1 coat of clear Deft, loaded with skittles. The candies give it just the right amount of color in my opinion.
Take a look.
Thanks for all the nice comments.
