Hi All
Wow! great community, loads of ideas and good work.
I'm fairly new to the hobby, biggest problem for me is what to make next! That and my eternal struggle with a poor quality machine, but you have to start somewhere and I'm saving hard for a scroll saw upgrade!
Keep the community going it's very inspirational to all.

Hi Neil, welcome to the forum. I'm Dustin aka Country Scroller from Ohio. I hope you get the upgrade, it pays off trust me. I started on a crappy saw that was ages old past down from my grandpa.

Hi there Neil - Ken from South Wales - Uk here, dont worry I been doing this for only 3 months now and also have a level entry machine - what I can say tho is make sure you use some nice quality blades and you should be fine

Hi neil, welcome to the forum, I'm Keith from Cornwall. Just down the road from you. I too started out with an entry level machine (A Clarke 16") was about a basic a machine as you can get. But you can still turn out some good stuff on a basic machine it just takes a little longer with blade changing. But one piece of advice - good blades make all the difference, the best I have found so far are the Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse blades, every third tooth is reversed and gives such a clean cut there is almost no sanding needed. Check them out at
http://www.mikesworkshop.com/blades.htm
Hope this helps, and the kettle is always hot if you ever get down Newquay way. (offer is open to anyone coming to Newquay)

Russ, If he gets his feet wet, does that mean his workshop's leaking?

Hi Neil, I'm Roy from Scotland, welcome to the forum, Come on in and kick up some sawdust. I've been using a crappy saw for some time now, but a bit of perseverance and more importantly, as Keefie says, GOOD BLADES!!!!!!. Good luck.
Rob Roy.
