Here is a end grain chopping board I made for my son in-law, end grain boards don't blunt the knives as quick

That's beautiful Jimbo. I never knew that about the end grain not dulling the knives as quickly.

End grain will kinda spit out of the way of the knife so it doesnt dull the edge as fast.

The wood I use for chopping boards in NZ native Rimu, this board is a piece of heart Rimu and is of very good color, the finishing oil is Paraffin oil the proper name in Onida oil it is a non toxic oil and can be used internally
