Balde TPI and saw speed

I have found out that I can cut better with my 28t .022 blade than I can with a 11.5T .053. The 28T gets a better cut and cuts faster with about 70-80% motor speed, if I use the 11.5T I have to slow down to about 50% power. This is on 1/4 ply birch or laun. It also seems to cut more smooth with the 28T at a faster speed then going slower. Is this right the more TPI the faster the motor speed needs to be? I thought it was the other way around, more TPI slower or blade gets hot and dulls faster trying to keep the saw dust clear, and a less TPI its faster motor speed.

I have to be honest with you DR, I don't choose blades by their tpi or thickness. I choose blades by their universal number, such as a #7 or a #2 or a #2/0. As for speed, that is up to you. I teach my students to start at about 50%. If you think the cutting is going to slow, speed it up. If you can't stay on the line, slow it down. Trying to formulize your cutting will drive you crazy! If it works for you, do it!

TPI and blade thickness as  well as speed all depend on wood thickness and type of wood (hard or soft) , what type of project you are cutting and what you get used to.
What ever works for you is the ONLY way to fly....er cut in this case. If you are happy, I'm thrilled to death.

I thought for a minute DR that you was going to change out you scroll saw motor and replace it with your router so you could saw a little faster...................phew!!! I am glad I was wrong.
