Wood thickness

Hi Steve
First of all thank you for guiding me to this community.
My question is, for portrait cutting what thickness of wood is generally used,currently I am using 1/4 inch.
Hope you have seen my projects

I can't speak for Steve but generally 1/4" and 1/8" are used for portraits. If I'm framing a portrait in a glass frame I will usually use 1/8". It allows more room to fit the project in the frame. If I'm using open frames I like to use 1/4" because I like the depth that the thicker material gives to the project.

I have cut portraits up to 3/4 inch thickness.

Sometimes the wood is made to a sack of 3 or 4 layers of 1/8" or 1/4". That gives more control, as the blade is not running through the wood that fast. The center layer will be best in that stack.
