are the blow torches they use are they the ones cooks use and any tips.
I have a comment how long will I be a newbie has I coming up to 80 surely I should be a oldie

You can use the kitchen type torch but it's not as fast as the larger torches. The kitchen torches are a bit safer though.
Keep posting. I think you graduate from newbie status at 100.

I got this one from Wal-Mart last week. Hard to beat the price. I like the how the torch brings out the wood grain. Made a Darth Vader and Boba Fett pattern for my wife with them.
