Hi, yesterday i bought a electrical planner, best buy i have done for a long time. Now i can get the thin wood that's not possible to bye here at the lumberyard were i live in sweden. I have started to use wood from pallets that i get from my work, they are from China, were else this days, and made from ceder and/or larch Wood. They are perfect in wide buy too thick so this planner is awsame to get it down to the thickness that i want. Happy to leave the plywood swamp and work on some real  wood now  8).

Congrats on the new toy.  I don't know how any scroller can get by without a planer.

Congratulations on your new tool.  I have a 13" planer.  It has had lots of use over the years I have had it.

I have had a planner for many years.  If I may make a suggestion, take a smooth, wide board and make a "table" that will good across the bottom of the planner and extends at least a couple of feet out on both sides.  This will reduce the uneven cuts on the ends and also enable you to plain really thin wood.  Have fun with your new toy.

I have another suggestion.  Buy a device to help you check for nails and staples in the wood.  Here's a link to one that sells for $25.  http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/142012/Little-Wizard-II-Metal-Detector.aspx   1 nail through your planner and you will need a new set of blades, so it is worth it if you plan to recycle wood.

Congrats on your new planer.  I don't have one yet but it is next on my "WISH" list.  One of these days.
Still saving.  :) :)
