If it is similar to the Excalibur there will be two screws on the left side of the arm near the blade holder.

I use clear tape a lot. especially on the edges of patterns and on thick wood.

I use Baltic Birch on 1/8" to 1/2" thick projects. For 3/4" projects, I buy Select Pine from Home Depot. It is a little expensive ($36.00 for a piece of 12" x 8', but it has beautiful grain and stains really nice and is soft to cut. I found that 3/4" Baltic Birch is just too tough on the blades because of all the glue and is really slow cutting.

Welcome! I am Tony,aka,Toneman, and live in Paris, Texas. I am retired from a bakery, Sara Lee. I started scrolling about 10 years ago and still love it. I do not do craft shows any longer but still sell in a couple of retail stores and still make items for family and friends. Please don't hesitate to ask questions; there are many good talented people on this forum whom are willing to help. I began scrolling after watching Steve's videos and am still learning.
