« on: July 16, 2012, 10:06:14 am »
In today's blog on the new sign maker Steve asked for input.

Where those comments be put?  In this topic as previously noted I am not sure if Steve has time to review.

Thanks

Brag Forum / Steve's door hangers (modified)
« on: June 26, 2012, 04:18:35 am »
I received the pattern for door hangers and couple of weeks ago and he first thing my wife said is that you have make those for the girls.

My youngest grand daughter is a princess nut.  She has all sorts of things with "Princess" on it and she likes to dress up and pretend she is a princess.  At nursery school, the firemen visited and asked if she wanted to be a fireman when she grew up and she said NO as she was going to be a princess.

How appropiate the door hanger would be.  Since I have 2 grand daughters I personalized and painted each with their favorited colours.

Thanks

I am late for class and wanted to find the first video of the series and then follow along.

Can you tell me where the start is or is it possible to add to the Scroll Saw School index?

Thanks

Ask Steve a question. / Modifying a pattern
« on: March 18, 2012, 06:11:28 am »
I was wondering if it is okay to modify Steve's patterns.

This is not for resale.  Our club has a contest going to create a new logo.  The scrollers will have a chuckle the turners and flatworkers will have a bird.

Don

PS.  I have 2 extra lines that I can't get out so I will just not cut.

I am looking for plans for a bank shaped like a dinasaur.

I have found the one on youtube

and another post  a link to woodwestworkswest.com but can not find there.

This video shows a completed Danny's Dinosaur Bank in ACTION!. I made the bank myself from plans available from woodworkswest.com

Any ideas where to look?

Thanks

General Scroll Saw Talk / Ex-21 and blades
« on: October 06, 2011, 05:03:26 am »
I am doing a lot of Steve's personalized ornaments and am finding the my blades are bending on the bottom. (I top feed)

After a dozen holes or so the blades have a bend at the bottom.  Looks like a J if you look at the side.

Using FD ultimate reverse #3.

Am I doing something wrong or is this normal?  I have tried to make sure that the blades are not beyond the holder in the bottom but nothing seems to make a difference.

Ask Steve a question. / Christmas ornaments
« on: September 29, 2011, 09:32:39 am »
I have received my ornament patterns from Steve and they are really fantastic.

I have been looking all over for patterns I could personalize and then use as the place setting for Christmas dinner.  These fit the bill extactly and the best part is that the LOML is thrilled.

Now, to cut them (19).

Does anyone one have any suggestions on what wood could ge use?

Computer questions / Can't get "unread posts"
« on: June 18, 2011, 02:15:47 pm »
I have been trying to click on the "Show unread posts sicnce last visit" and I get no topics.

I can get that to work by going to an old email regarding a topic.  Go there and then the show uread works.

I am on a number of other forums but this is the only one that does it.  I have tried with Chrome too and the same thing.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Don

I just watch the video at

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=sdgood#p/u/8/fOCFXAOWG1g

which is for a small oval box with rare earth magnets to keep closed.

Does anyone know where I can find the pattern?

Thanks

Introduce Yourself. / Hi from Brooklin Ontario
« on: March 29, 2011, 03:43:02 pm »
I am a new scroller eager to learn.

Got the bug at the Durham Woodworking club.  My EX-21 arrived a week or so ago and have done some lettering plates and a train for the grandkids so far.

My real interest is to be able to do portraits well by Christmas time,

Don McFarland
