General Scroll Saw Talk / where do you find thin wood?
« on: June 18, 2010, 12:40:05 am »
I'm still new at this and will be for a year or so I suspect, where do you find the thin  wood?  I see you can buy it on e-bay but isn't there a place like home depot to get it??  It's kinda tough making it on my table saw...

General Scroll Saw Talk / blades?blades? or no matter blades??
« on: May 21, 2010, 09:21:39 pm »
i think I am  being overly concerned but wouldn't it be helpful if blade sizes were mentioned more often, i tried using the spirals, not always so good, why would anyone use anything BUT reverse tooth because of rip-out? i sometimes feel like i'm on training wheels here :-)

i saw a collapsible basket in a furniture store, studied it, figured out how it was made, and i'm still trying to successfully make two in a row that will open all the way, oh by the way i've only been doing this for a couple weeks  :-)

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: blade getting dull
« on: April 23, 2010, 06:44:19 pm »
maybe my problem is a Dremel scroll saw (i don't seem to hear much good about them) but this is very interesting, i am "very" new to this , Charlie only uses spirals? - 2 blades per project not uncommon - when you have to force (push) the wood into the blade it's probably dull - where else could someone get this kind of info - my problem is what blade to use where and i seem to get tear out on the bottom of my projects i'll just keep reading -thanks
