General Scroll Saw Talk / working height scrollsaw

My srcollsaw stands on a old kitchen cabinet and that's to high for using a normal chair.
I use a kind of barstool to sit and somtimes I stand behind my scrollsaw.

the heigth of my Scrollsaw  42.5"

So I was wondering on what heigth you all have your scrolsaw?
I'm curious to your experience to see if I keep this heigth or that I should lower it.

The Coffee Shop / Windows: lot of work

well, after a slow, slower, slowst computer I did a new installation today.

A C:\ drive format and build up from scrap.....
the system is now running again, and I'm installing the program's 1 by 1 now.

I hope I get everything done today, but I guess I will be busy tomorrow to

why did we ever "bought" the concept, a computer that needs to be reprogramed every now and than. and be sure you have the key's and programs at hand....


I mean, if you go with your car to the garage and they say do you have the original software and manuals otherwise we can't fix this thing....

I just bought a brand new dust cloak on a fair for $ 6,--
a long one that comes far below my knees.
actualy it's a old model with two rows of buttons.

as I write this I wander what everyone else uses to protect their clothes from getting dusty?

Hi everyone,

I'm back, had a great time in the greece sun with temp. up to 104F (40C)
blue water and a lot of souvlaki  
now I will start reading all the post i missed.

Nice to know, the island Samos is the island of Pytagoras (you know, A?+B?=C?)
I visit the cave up on mount kerkis where pytagoras gave his studies.
so next time I make a rectangle I can calculate something i guess...

to night is the night... 
At 5.30 AM to night the plane leaves to Greece.
therefor I have to be at 3.00 AM at the airport and to do that I have to leave home around 01:15 AM....
so I'll guess I go to bed early to night  and then a lot of coffee to keep awake

so happy scrolling everyone and see y'all in about 12 days

I'm not much of a pattern maker myself.
in the past I watched some video's from Steve for making patterns in corel.
in an other topic Grampa told about Inkskape. He send me some tips in a PM and I started working.
I used (don't no why) a picture of Kenny Rogers.

so what do you think, do you still recognize him?

for al the dutch scrollers, in the lidl store there is a bargain on metal "one hand" clamps.

2 big 10cm clamps or 4 small 5 cm clamps ? 3,--  ($4,-)
i bought some, looks good.

Introduce Yourself. / My Workshop

Hi everyone,

I started to build a cellar this autumn.
It's almost finished now.
a part of the cellar will be my workshop.
Past weekend I installed some shelf's and cabinets.
placing all my tools and I can start scrolling again!

Hi there,

Great work this community!
Steve, tank you for all your effort!
To introduce myself: I?m Marcel from the Netherlands.
I started scrolling in February 2009 in a small shed.
Because the lack off space I started to build a new workshop.
First I had to build a cellar (450 ft?) under my house.
One of the rooms will become my workshop (165 ft?).
The cellar is ready, I?m establishing my workshop the next couple of weeks.
I send some pictures later one.
