The Coffee Shop / Thoughts and prayers please for our Military
« on: September 23, 2014, 10:58:59 am »
To all my friends/family here on the forum.
My son Cory Claridy is now out sailing around the Pacific Ocean on a MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines. I would ask everyone to keep Cory, all those in BLT 3/5 and all our Military in your thoughts and prayers. With everything going on in the middle east right now I can't help but worry. I am not saying that he is going to be involved in or going to that area. But in reality, he is a Marine on active duty and can be called to where they need him along with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines. I hope and pray that God keeps his Angels encamped around you, keeping you safe and well my son.

P.S. It's also his Birthday today and it sucks we can't celebrate it with him.

Thank You
Russ

The Coffee Shop / 2014 Christmas Ornament Exchange:
« on: September 21, 2014, 02:09:10 pm »
Ho Ho Ho it's that time of the year again...

2014 Christmas Ornament Exchange:

September 21st 2014                       Exchange Opens. Start working on your ornaments.
October 19th 2014  (Midnight)          Cut off time for posting and e-mails
October 27th thru the 31st 2014       Return E-Mail with Exchange Buddy Information
November 17th 2014                       Mail your Ornament

You can mail them anytime after you receive your Exchange Buddy's information. November 17th 2014 should be the latest for mailing your ornament especially those outside the USA.

Steps/Rules for entering:

1. Pattern:
The pattern you choose can be made by you or purchased but shall be the type and size to be hung on a Christmas tree.

2. Ornament:
The ornament you make for the exchange shall be the type, size and weight that can be hung on a Christmas tree. You may choose any type of wood. Only one ornament is required to participate. You can include other items in the package you send to your exchange buddy, but that is totally up to you. However you must send at least one item, the ornament. Start working on your ornament now.

3. Post:
Post here in this thread with your forum name first and birth name second, just like below.

Count me in (Forum Name) aka (Birth Name)

Example: Count me in Russ C  aka  Russell Claridy

You may start another paragraph/sentence under first line for any comments. However if the first sentence is not like the example the post will be deleted. Sorry for being so strict but with so many posts to read and e-mails to send, I am trying to make it as easy as possible for me to copy - paste the information and helps to eliminate typing errors.

4. E-Mail:
After posting then E-Mail me at  russclaridy@gmail.com.

In The Subject Line Enter:  2014 Christmas Ornament Exchange

Message Body Enter just like below:

Your forum Name
Birth Name
Address
City State Zip
E-Mail Address

(Example):
Russ C
Russell Claridy
1234 Example Dr.
Tampa FL 33813
russclaridy@gmail.com

For those of you outside the USA, type it just like you would when sending a package or letter. With so many e-mails to read, following these instructions will help me quickly identify the Ornament Exchange emails and allow me to cut and paste your address into the data base and return e-mails. It will save me a lot of time and stress. Those who do not follow these instructions, their e-mails may be overlooked and or deleted.

Please understand, I am not trying to be difficult with these instructions/rules or spoil the fun. After doing this for several years I know what works. I have had problems in the past especially with e-mails where people would write me and include their information I need in the body of their e-mails. Makes it real hard to copy and paste which keeps me from doing a whole lot of typing. So please read and follow.

Ho, Ho, Ho, thanks for you cooperation

The Coffee Shop / Georgia Grandma In Court

COFFEE WARNING :.. :o  :o  :o

In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.'

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?'

She again replied, 'Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a
youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.'

The defense attorney nearly died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,

'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair.

Brag Forum / Shop Sign
« on: May 14, 2014, 06:32:39 pm »
Here is the sign I designed and made for the outside of my shop. Made with Hickory, Cherry, Black Walnut, Mahogany and Maple. I used leather straps to see what the sign would look like hanging. I might replace it with some small brass chain when I find some.  :)
