i was not scroll sawing yet last Christmas. i am sharing my new hobby with my family this year. none of them even know i am scrolling.
all the gifts are done in luan and put into a standard 8x10 picture frame.

the 5 stack cut projects contain 10 family members in all. each person pictured will get all 5. plus i am sending 1 of our sons to my ex-wife and her mother, one of my oldest son and his wife to her parents and several people not pictured.... about 56 all together.

my parents
my daughters
my sons
my oldest son and his wife

went on a search and found this. it is meant for stain glass but you can put any picture file in, input the sizes , and the output goes straight to your printer.

does anyone use them, are they worth the price, and what is the best brand?

or are there files that are good?

thanks all
you people here are great.

you never stop learning!!!!

this sounds strange to me so must really sound that way to pros....

i am working on the Beatles and putting tape to hold cut pieces in place.  when i lift off the blade i also reach under and hold pieces ... i found today if i use my orbital sander with the cut pieces still in place it takes care of all the hairy wood i have been trying to sand later.

well George and Ringo are done but still have to do Paul and John.... sooo off to cut.... later taters!

Hi Guys,

Here is step by step what I do and what happens....

1.  Go to Steve's Blog Site

2.  Left side to "ReSize a Pattern"

3.  Choose a file     I use Bass Fanatic from Steve's patterns

4.  Submit my file

5.  Choose page..... I chose page #3, the outline of the pattern

6. Prepare your Design

7.  Rotate    SKIP

8.  Crop       SKIP

9.  Tint Red    APPLY

10.  Fit Page

11.  Print

It immediately takes to purchase page....

So, what am I doing wrong???

Thanks   Jeff

Same for me Jeff.... if it was "buy the program" i might... but it looks more like "rent use" if i read correctly .

i have gone as high as 6 layers of 1/8" luan to do family portraits for Christmas this year. i used a #3 spiral blade. i learned early that when i make a cut that leaves a floating piece that can vibrate i place a piece of blue tape over it. then i reach under as i remove the blade and hold the piece in place and tape the bottom as well.
you can see the results of the pattern and result below.

(i just started putting 2 1/8" luan between 2 1/4" Burch plywood with a revers spiral blade. have to move super slow though or the blade drifts.)

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Glue????

Hi, 3DFace,
On fretwork pieces with lots of small areas, I just apply the glue with a q-tip cotton swab.
I've used all the glues mentioned in these replies but, usually buy a huge bottle of
Elmers carpenters glue and then re-fill a smaller bottle. Saves money.
God Bless! Spirithorse
thanks Spirithorse.
i use elmers glue. the issue it with the squeezed glue left on the backer is visible after drying when i do add too much..
