General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: looking at this saw, what do you think?
« on: June 15, 2021, 07:24:59 pm »
I used a fixed arm for years then went to a saw that had arm raising capabilities. I  changed to top feeding with little difficulty. Very pleased and now have Seyco that I use lots

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Re: Removing Patterns
« on: June 10, 2021, 07:02:50 pm »
I have tried many spray glues, shelf liner, painters tape and have settled on a 77 labelled spray directly to the pattern, wait 30 seconds or so to position onto the wood . Then use either wood spirits to remove the pattern or heat. I like to pre-sand before attaching the pattern and have found shelf liner and painters tape will sometimes pull wood fibres out when removing the pattern then I feel I need to touch the finished piece with sand paper again which can cause delicate places to break.

Ask Steve a question. / Re: Seyco ST21 vibration/shaking Issue
« on: May 22, 2021, 07:49:16 am »
Sorry to hear your vibration problem hasn't been corrected. Persistant frustration can destroy a person's desire for our sport of scroll sawing. Sometimes we need to just move on and another saw appears to be your best solution. I live in Canada and shipping from the U.S has become a real expensive issue for me. My thoughts on your saw is something bent or misaligned or maybe a defective bearing. I look forward to seeing posts of your work in the future. Happy Scrolling

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: A Day of Steves

Today our host, Steve Good, mentioned a project designed by Steve Carmichael.  Steve's Plans for his stand for his Dewalt scroll saw.  I have built this stand using the plans from Mr. Carmichael.  They are good plans and provide an excellent stand for your saw.  Enjoy your scrolling.  Practice may not always make perfect - but it will make you better.      Regards > GLC in Cypress, Texas

We strive for perfection as the ideal to achieve, however accept our progression

I have a Seyco and with the cyclone dust collector dust control is quite good, yet I still use a dust mask and hearing protection
