General Scroll Saw Talk / Help....Lower blade clamp problem with smaller blades

Hi Guys.... Its been a long time since I posted on here.

I have a Delta 40-695, similar to the Dewalt. I have difficulties with the lower blade clamp tightening smaller blades such as 2/0 or nbr-1. Larger blades like nbr-5 or 7 will clamp just fine without any issues. I have tried adjusting the set screw... but those dang smaller blades will just not clamp.

My go to blade is the FD UR nbr-5 all the time.... But I have the need to use a smaller blade and can only get it to clamp like 1 out of 50 tries

Any help will be appreciated!!

I also clamp the peices together and Hot Glue the edges. Makes for a very strong peice of wood.

Congrats on the new saw. I only have the use of one hand so top feeding is the only
option. I think you will like it. No more feeling for the holes. no more bent
blades etc...

OK guys.... I have seen some very beautiful work done and pattterns that I drool over.

My question is how to cut these patterns that contain very delicate cuts without breaking
anything.

What type of support should be used cutting something so delicate?? Any advice,
techniques, Youtube video's would be apprciated.

I think I would be upset as well. That looks great.

Does anybody know how to dissolve the glue without effecting the finish so it can be re-assembled in the correct fashon??

Just a thought for recovery efforts. . .

Besides frostbite and getting chilled to the core for myself... Is there any negative
effect to the scroll saw... possibly the baffles cracking and breaking ??

General Scroll Saw Talk / Early XMAS Present

Santa (me) gave me a early xmas present. I went to my local Woodcraft store and bought a foot switch for my 40-695 Delta scroll saw. They are having a sale all December. I think I paid $19.00 for it. I got to play with it last night on a project I need to get done, and I really Love it. Since I only have one hand to saw with this really helps on start-up's so far. I have experienced lots of chatter sometimes when I turned my saw on because I can't hold the wood and turn on the power switch at the same time. This caused some ugly cuts. I think that is all behind me now. Thanks Santa!! Now for some warmer weather so I can play in my unheated garage.... brrr!!

instead of just taping before glueing.... I use a spring clamp to get a real tight fit before hot glueing. Just using tape may leave a small gap.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Dremel Plunge Router Attachment for drilling holes

I don't recall who posted the suggestion a long time ago... I had picked up the plunge router attachment some time ago and Finally got around to using it. I just wanted to say a Big THANKS. I was drilling holes like a mad man. Got my piece prep'd and drilled in a fraction of the time. Only have the use of one hand... so the drill press is not a good option. Using a drill is do-able but needs no explanation.
