General Scroll Saw Talk / Wen air cleaner
« on: December 23, 2017, 09:21:15 am »
Just watched the review on the Wen. I've had this unit for quite a while I can say it's great. No complaints at all. I have a shop about the size of a one stall garage. I do more sign carving using a router then scrolling, 60/40 and this keeps up with that dust. I run it while working then use the timer after I leave. Never an issue with the electronics. Ive had to replace a few filters and when I do, you can tell it's working. Not a real replacement for a face filter. It's a good addition. Well worth the $111. Hangs pretty much in the middle of the shop. It's quiet also. Just thought I through a thumbs up on this.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Table alignment
« on: September 13, 2015, 08:44:18 pm »
I have a Dewalt 788. I've had it for a few months. I've been doing more signs then scrolling so not used much. I set the table to 0 then check the level. I placed it on a level surface before leveling it. At 0 it was fine. I noticed that the backside cuts are not the same as the front ones. Slightly thinner. I checked the table again and it hadn't moved. I tighten the blade and put a steel ruler on the table and against the blade much like you would do table saw. It was a hair off. Actually one line (whatever that is) from 0. I adjusted it and my cuts were better. I was wondering if was a common thing with Dewalt or just my table off.

  Thanks

General Scroll Saw Talk / Lubricating blade
« on: August 16, 2015, 08:19:18 pm »
Just wondering how or if anybody lubricates the blade. I know that tape over the paper does or heard it does. I've stop using the tape because I've had issues at time with saw dust getting under it. I've now prefer it now.

General Scroll Saw Talk / enlarging a pdf pattern
« on: January 12, 2015, 08:49:43 pm »
I plan on making the cowboy boot clock. I already have a clock, a 2-3/4. When I put in on the pattern it hangs over the edges. Can I slightly enlarge the boot so it fits? Not sure if you can do it being a PDF. The clock on the pattern is a 2-3/4 and shown it fits. I'm just trying to make use of the I have without shelling out the $12 for another.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Buying FD blades.
« on: December 17, 2014, 08:35:29 pm »
Hi, I was looking to try some Flying Dutchman blades. I'm kind of new and was using Olsens. I ordered some from a site called Lesley's Patterns. After almost two weeks, nothing. No reply from any emails ether. How is the Mike's workshop. I used the other because of they use Paypal, which I'll be contacting next.

Anyway just saying hello and like to give Steve a big thank you for all he does on here.
