General Scroll Saw Talk / DW 788 rattle
« on: April 27, 2015, 02:57:18 pm »
Started cutting thick item and Dw 788 started to really rattle. Did the bit under the switch but did not see any rubbing. Turned the rod but did not help. With trepidation decided to tear it apart. Used the video from Gwinette Woodturners. Took less time than expected. Found that the plate that holds the eccentric arm has four screws holding it. Two were rattling around loose, the third about half way out. Tightend everything back and it purrs now. Even quieter than when new (about 1 year from ebay if you believe that).

Ask Steve a question. / Suggestion
« on: October 28, 2014, 06:02:48 pm »
Steve, I don't see how you can have a day job and do what you do with the saw. Suggestion. you did a cat plaque about what meow you don't understand. I have been trying to modify your "Woof" plaque to include what part of woof don't you understand but have not had much luck. You might try that one for us... thanks for your efforts. I'm new to this hobby and having a ball.  Darryl

Ask Steve a question. / 3d keychain
« on: March 22, 2014, 02:35:17 pm »
Steve has a good info on making a 3d keychain using his 2d keychain program. How do you make a pattern for 3d as shown in the you tube video. I can't get the two patterns together unless I cut and paste manually with scissors and tape.
