Pattern Requests. / Script writing request please
« on: May 28, 2016, 09:34:07 am »
Hello everyone.

a friend of mine asked me to make her a sign to hang outside at her house. she asked if I could make her a sign reading :  PAULA'S CAFE

in a nice script writing with a steaming coffee cup on it...the only restriction I have is that it can only be 20 inches long. the width doesn't matter just the length...

I'm thinking of using a couple of steve's coffee cups since he has numerous ones on here that I can intergrate into the sign. my only problem is making the word art part that is a nice script that I can cut on the scroll saw.

if anyone could help me out I would be really grateful.

thank you

Pattern Requests. / can someone modify a welcome sign pattern for me?
« on: June 17, 2015, 06:57:32 am »
hello everyone,

I am looking to modify one of steve's welcome sign patterns. I would like to take the "welcome" part out of it and put in "The Rucchin Familly"

if any of you awesome pattern guys out there can do this for me it would be absolutely wonderfull !! I am not sure if I am allowed to post the welcome sign template that he has so I will just describe it...it is the one with the small deer on the bottom, rabbits in the lower right corner, a coupe trees, and maple leaf's across the top...if you guys think it would be possible to modify it I would love to see ppl's ideas on how we can do this...

thanks everyone ..

Pattern Requests. / Re: New Rule For Posting Photos For Pattern Makers
« on: March 17, 2015, 03:49:25 pm »
what about possibly just restricting the size limits of posted pictures? I am on a couple sites that have this restriction in place. on average I can take a picture that is 1.82mb's and VERY quickly and easily resize it to 29.4kb ..this process is so easy and FREE to do that anyone can do it in the matter of a minute at the most..would that be a possible option ? it's just nice to see people post the picture that they are requesting and being able to see what these awesome pattern makers can do with it....it's a shame that it is messing up the site and I totally understand why this is being done....just thought this might be another possibility for people to still be able to do it..

thanks,

again, I would like to thank all the wonderful members here who help guys like me out with making us patterns ! here is the final product just waiting for me to apply the final finishing. this sign is going to a local ranch/farm so I tried to keep the rustic somewhat cowboy feel to the piece. again thank you for your help with this pattern.

are you planning on colouring the backer board different from the cut piece to make t pop a bit? if so that kinda has to be done before they are glued together...I use to read that oiled projects don't stick together with glue that good and can come apart....but in BEST trick I've ever read about gluing your pieces together came from this site. sorry I forgot who stated it though so can't give the person the credit...anyways put some wax paper down and go buy yourself a little foam roller, then roll the glue onto the wax paper and just set the top piece of wood onto the wax paper, it gives the perfect amount of glue onto your piece and it's super fast and covers the entire project perfectly! you also get VERY little squeeze out with this method as well _) .. also put some weights on top of the wood after they are glued to give it a good strong bond , then spray with which ever finishing product i'm using those days.
I have never had any problems with pieces coming unglued doing this method, and it seems to work great for me. I think the important part is making sure you give the pieces time to properly cure and dry before you glue

Hi gals and guys,

I had a request from someone I know that owns a farm asking if I can make this sign for them but instead of "the andersons" to have it say "The Thorne's"

I was wondering if one of you awesome designers might be able to adjust this for me to show their name in it. and help with changing the letters as necessary so they can be cut out on the scroll saw for me. if the font has to be changed that is fine they said but they would like to keep the style very similar to what is shown

I would really appreciate it ..

thanks

thanks for all the help on this one guys. here is what I ended up coming up with ..thanks tdub4ever. I took what you gave and changed a couple things...turned out ok I suppose. there was lots of the cutting that I wasn't pleased and this was in no way anywhere close to my normal cutting skills. but the person is very happy with it so that's all that matters I suppose.....
