Nice pieces. What is the size? Are they cut in BB Ply?

Cut from ⅛ BB.  The base is white oak.  The nominal size is 12 x 18.  Height and width vary a little from that.

Everyone should remember---there are 2 kinds of people in this world.  Those that have a Mac and those that wish they had a Mac.  LOL

Hi Scrollers.

Butterflies

As most of you know I design schwibbogens from patterns of other scrollers.  I try to give credit to those pattern makers.  However in the cutting of this schwibbogen I had a hard drive crash and the info was lost.  I've tried to do the best I can to give credit.  The large butterfly is from Chrestensen-Burgout designs; thanks Toni and Sue.  The side butterflies I'm not sure.  They came from a magazine or pattern vault, but which one?  The bottom and center butterfly pattern is by Diana Thompson and purchased from Scroller.  The pasties around the arch were given to me by a scroller from one of the forums, The Cafe I think.

This may not be the most difficult schwibbogen I have ever cut, but it is in the top three.  The design was fun and challenging too.

As you can see, there are two lighted versions.  The customer wanted colored lights and I'm here to please. They don't show up all that well in the picture.  However, traditionalist that I am, I prefer the clear light version.

Whadayathnk?

Comments welcome.

I was a blue tape and spray adhesive person for many, many years.  I recently discovered "Scroll Saw Tape" , Item #SST20 or SST5.

It is sold by Scroller in their catalog.

I'll never go back to the old way.

I first tried the cheaper 5 ft size to see if I liked it.  Couldn't wait to get the 20 ft size.

Give it a try.

Very nice.  Be careful though.  Making schwibbogens can be habit forming.  I know.

I do my signing in two ways.

1-I cut initials and place them on the piece

look in the lower right

The other is my logo.  These are on address labels and I put the year on them.  The logo came from an old scrolling forum.

Yo newfi

Here is a link to a tutorial I did on sand inlays a few years ago on another forum.

Since then I have started using "Easy Cast" a clear casting epoxy I get at Michaels.

Give it a try.

Don't limit yourself to clay.  I use colored sand for my inlays.

Click on the link for an example.  This is of our schnauzer Blanca.

Many thanks to all who helped.  I think the problem is solved.  My ISP is Comcast.  I just moved the e-mails to the spam folder on Comcast e-mail.

Apparently that blocked that address.

I am getting literally over a hundred spam e-mails a week from this address.  Sometimes over 25 a day.

cobon+owners@googlegroups.com

Is anyone else having this problem?

BTW they are addressing the SPAM to cobon@googlegroups.com but it is coming to my mail box.  I subscribe to a couple of Google alert msg and to Steve's scrolling tips.  Steve says it is not coming from his site.

My ISP is Comcast.

They don't have a opt out address.  What can I do?

Try this: http://www.heritagewood.com

My favorite.  They're slow, but great wood, so you sort of have to plan ahead.

Good luck,

Bill

I also use Heritage.  Great folks.  Sameo, sameo with the slow service so, as Bill says, plan ahead.

My last 2 orders of 1/8 Blatic Birch had some minor voids and the inner ply wasn't the same color as the outter plys.  Much darker.

Told Ray, their manager, today.

These are great folks and will custom cut stuff for you.  I needed some oak, drop dead straight for my schwibbogen bases and they did it for me.
