If you quit buying from the local BP station, you are hurting the independent owner more than BP.  He is just trying to make a living.  HE HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY in the oil leak.   

If anything, you might suggest that they change suppliers when their contract with BP is up.

What Greybeard said.  When I have mixed with paint, it has set very hard.  Can be bought at hardwares and big box stores.

I have posted this before.   If you use Water Putty mixed with craft paint, instead of water, you have unlimited color choices.  It does not shrink and does not need to be baked.

Instead of Inlace, I have used water puty mixed with Delta craft paint instead of water.
