General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Scroll saw blade storage
« on: August 07, 2019, 02:08:01 pm »
A picture is worth a couple of words  ;)
Cut 1/2 inside diameter PVC to 5 inch lengths. Cut one 4 inches.
cut scrap plastic into 3/4 inch pieces (I used old VCR tape cases)
super glue onto the end of the pipe. make sure it sits long enough to cure.
With file or belt sander sand off excess plastic so it leaves the pipe smooth all around.
cut base shape from scrape 1 inch board (really it is only3/4 in)
Let me know if you want my pattern but it depends on how many blade holders you want.
drill 5/8th holes 1 inch by 1-1/2 apart with spade bit so just the point comes out leaving a thin "floor".
The covers are the pipe caps.
The four inch front pipe holds the blade in current use.
blades usually come with labels that I just tape on.
Hope this helps feel free to ask any questions if I didn't make something quite clear. Hope this works for you. Sizes can be adjusted. Bigger pipe, bigger holes etc.

;Hello there. And welcome to the forum. It isn't near as busy it used to be but we are all "lurkers" so post anytime with your work or questions. We are all here to help, admire, and suggest. ;)
I am familiar with where you are. I did the Renaissance there for 20 years. Retired to just scroll sawing now.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: listening to music

I am sorry you don't hear well.
I would suggest you get a good set of head phones attach them to your music source and turn the volume up.  You may not "hear" the music, but maybe you could "feel" it.

I use a noise canceling blue tooth headset and listen to books from audible.
