General Scroll Saw Talk / Dewalt 774 problems
« on: November 16, 2013, 11:27:07 am »
I have a 5 yr old Dewalt 774 type 2 scroll saw and have just love it.  Have not had any problems until yesterday.  It will not turn on. I have taped on the motor, checked the overload fuse, cleaned up the on-off switch with air hose and nothing.  Tried plugging into different outlets and so on but still nothing.

 Anyone have any ideas?

God bless

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Dewalt 788 type 2 quality level in 2013?

I have had mine Dewalt for 5 years and just love and I  have not had any problem except for today. ITWILL NOT RUN!.  Tell me about more about the dusty switch problem.  I have checked the cords and tap on the motor blew out the dust under the switch and still will not run.

If anyone has any other ideas on why it is not running I would appreciate some info.  Christmas is just around the corner and I have lots of presents to make.

Thanks for your help

General Scroll Saw Talk / Making picture frames for the first time
« on: March 08, 2012, 09:08:33 pm »
Does anyone have an simple easy way to help me start making my own picture frames for my scroll saw work.  I have looked around and can't find a picture frame that is deep enough for the glass and the 1/8 portrait and backing.  I greatly appreciate all of your help and guidance.

Outstanding job!  Being a firefighter myself, this really caught my eye.  What size and kind of wood did you use to scroll this?

Thanks for your reply

Ask Steve a question. / Sanding scroll saw project made from computer CD
« on: January 28, 2012, 01:34:24 pm »
Steve:I was reading about a scroll sawer who made some small characters and lettering using computer CD.  I tried it and it cut great.  However what do I use to sand and cleanup the plastic fuzzies without hurting my project?

Thanks for all you hard work and effort on this scroll saw site.  I enjoy every minute of reading items from this site.

Introduce Yourself. / Oval Bowl project question
« on: August 04, 2011, 09:47:22 am »
I am from Kansas and have just joined you site and this is my second year of getting the hang of the art of scrolling.  Thanks Steve so much for all the hard work you do helping us new scrolling sawers get started.

Steve I have just cut out the oval bowl from your pattern site.  I used  3/4 red oak wood.  I drilled the holes at 20 degrees and then set my dewalt scroll saw at 20 degrees and cut out the eccentircs.

My question is how and what kind of sander do you recommend to use to finish the project.  Do you glue up the rings and sand them before you glue the 3 rings to the base or what?

God bless and thanks again
