The Coffee Shop / THE BIGGEST THANK YOU IN THE WORLD!!!!
« on: July 11, 2011, 05:01:36 pm »
You all can't know how much you cards, thoughts, well wishes and prayers have meant to me. It is great being home.
It is true what they say about hospital food. The worst peanut butter sandwich is a whole lot better than anything they serve.  Of course I only was able to eat for the last week or two.

To be honest, I don't remember a lot of the time I was in there. Just as well from what I have been told.

I plan to start cutting again as soon as I get some strength back in my right hand.

Marion, the cards were creative and wonderful!! GreyBeard, I am now in love with Tom Shellek (Jessie Stone).

You all are the greatest bunch of friends this old lady could ask for.  Thanks and love you all.

The Coffee Shop / Me and Mike Not sleeping together
« on: April 01, 2011, 09:59:47 am »
Guess I will be alone.  My surgery has been bumped up to the 14th of April. The biggest pain is all that pre-op silliness. It is 100 miles one way for me and since it is two Drs. there are two pre-ops on two different days.  >:(
I got the information packet and their main objective is  BRING MONEY!!!
ok I have vented now.  Sink full of dirty dishes to deal with, then off to the saw maybe.  Thanks for listening ;D

The Coffee Shop / Cancer Again
« on: March 18, 2011, 10:44:08 am »
Since you are my family, I thought I should tell you first.  I just got the call...yep it's Cancer ...again.  This is my third time.  I am ok now just terribly tired.  I have to go through the whole routine, surgery etc.  Just waiting for scheduling.  But on a happy note... I worked on getting patterns ready to cut. (sitting at the computer tweaking ready made patterns doesn't take energy.  Here is a couple.  I plan to cut them for wall hangings , about 6 inches high.

The Coffee Shop / Grand Child
« on: March 09, 2011, 08:02:58 pm »
A woman in a supermarket is following a grandfather and his badly behaved 3-year-old grandson.
It's obvious to her that he has his hands full with the child screaming for sweets in the sweet aisle, biscuits in the biscuit aisle, and for fruit, cereal and pop in the other aisles.
Meanwhile, Gramps is working his way around, saying in a controlled voice, "Easy, William, we won't be long . . . Easy, boy."
Another outburst, and she hears the granddad calmly say, "It's okay, William, just a couple more minutes and we'll be out of here. Hang in there, boy."
At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart, and Gramps says again in a controlled voice, "William, William, relax buddy, don't get upset. We'll be home in five minutes; stay cool, William."
Very impressed, the woman goes outside where the grandfather is loading his groceries and the boy into the car.
She said to the elderly gentleman, "It's none of my business, but you were amazing in there. I don't know how you did it. That whole time, you kept your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying things would be okay. William is very lucky to have you as his grandpa."
"Thanks, lady," said the grandfather, "but I'm William.
The little brat's name is Kevin."

Pattern Requests. / Dingbat Font ??
« on: March 09, 2011, 03:34:30 pm »
I sure hope someone can help.  Before the infection of my computer I had a font on here that had different shapes that I used in a lot of my patterns.  The name was something like COTSWALEN  OR COSTWOLLEN or something like that.  I have been through Dafont but I must have gotten it somewhere else.

Computer questions / OMG!!!!
« on: February 01, 2011, 11:50:37 am »
While I was checking out a link someone had on here......I was hit with a virus from hell.  Something to do with AVG saying I had 20+ "bad things" some of which were critical.  Being the dummy that I am I clicked on the button that said click here to fix.   My regular computer is off being formatted and cleaned up. So in the mean time I am using this little MINIPUTER and I feel like a monkey making love to a baseball.  In other words I won't be real active here for a while.
