Hi Steve,
You might find one in Europe. My friend in Belgium are using a long one.
I will ask them how much they cost and what the shipping will be.

Hi Steve,

Take a look at www.baptist.nl, go there to" Baptist voor houtbewerkers(woodworkers)", then choose zagen(saws) on the left site, and then choose  "Westerse zagen algemeen en speciaal werk".
There you find "verstelbare zaagbeugel" in different sizes for scrollsaw. Is that what you're looking for?
Or go to www.laubsaegen247.de/html/sagebogen, where you can find them too.

Hope this can help you, maybe you can mail them to ask how shipping goes?

FD MIKE, when you get on the site, on the left side of the page you scroll down to saws and click on it. when the page comes up click on coping and fret saws and it will show you different size saws,
This one item# 540-0780 has a 12 inch long frame cost $24.45
                     # 540-0790 has a 13 inch long frame cost $49.45

Hope this clarifies all.

Hi Mike,
The picture showes the hand fret saw. That one is a regular frame, you have to go the Germany to get one what is a lot longer.
The one on the left is a coping saw.
I used a hand fret saw for years. That is how I got hooked on scroll sawing.
Thanks anyway, Mike

FD MIKE, Dgman posted links for the same fret saws I was talking about, they are made in Germany. I believe you can purchase them from Traditional
Woodworking.com and they offer free shipping on some orders.

Thanks guys. My reader is looking for one that has a 20in throat. The longest I can find is 13 inches.
I think FDMike is correct and he will have to look overseas. Thanks for the help.

Nice find Marcel, just noticed you got your conversion from euro's to dollars mixed up, you pay more in dollars for the 11,50 saw it would be close on 15 dollars. Just thought it would be handy for our US friends to know, don't hope you mind me butting in on your post.

Steve,
I just got an email from Germany; "Yes,  Mike. I sell this saw bows for 12,90 Euro"
I don't know what postage would be. I will ask him.
One Euro is now 1.3006 against the dollar. Hope that the sliding of the dollar stops soon.
