Title: new porter cable saw side to side fix?
Post by: scottisscrollin on March 15, 2018, 11:18:18 pm
i just bought a porter cable 18" variable speed and i have one issue i dont know how to fix.
it seems the lower arm moves slightly side to side  so the blade moves side to side annoying as heck .
i think it maybe a miss formed or even bent lower arm, I havent taken the arm out to look at it yet just incase some knows a  fix
if there are any suggestions  i would welcome all?

i did fix the 2 allen bolts coming from the motor to the bearings to the arm the spacers where slanted instead of ground flat and the allen bolts were a touch too long so i placed a washer on and fixed both  but i still have side to side movement  i kinda acts like the arm is bent or not milled straight
hmm will have to keep looking it over and see what else i can find
LOL i always happen to have the bad luck of buying the ONE machine that has the issues  everyone else get the good one LOL
