Title: Inlay on box lids.
Post by: Jim Finn on December 13, 2017, 07:42:12 am
Same pattern , different woods. One, Pine, maple, and bois d'arc and one  cedar, basswood, and bois d'arc.  Boxes measure 6"x8"x3"       3/8" thick wood.

Lovely work Jim the dragonfly really stands out lovely, is it a commercial pattern or one of your own designs? there is a guy in the UK who make beautiful carved insects and some of them are around 3ft long....think they are aimed at garden decoration but they are lovely and too nice to leave outside.
Cheers
Brian

No I do not  draw well, so I applied the pattern, from the internet, using carbon paper.

Nice work, Jim.  I grew up calling bois d'arc horse apple tree.  Scrolled some for compound Christmas ornament.  Was getting smoke and black hot chips when the going got tough.

Very nice. Love them both. I have not been very good at inlays. Your work is fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
