Post by: tvman44 on October 24, 2014, 08:43:07 pm
Has anyone ordered 1/8" Baltic Birch Ply from Woodcraft?
I am wondering about the quality.

Check out Sloan's. Their prices are excellent and the quality is excellent.

I'm with Dan.  I ALWAYS buy from  http://www.sloanswoodshop.com/default.htm    I only order, "Good on both sides."  Worth the little extra money, plus now you have 2 sides to choose from.

I buy mine at a local lumber yard.  5' X 5' sheet for under $40.

We have a joint called Wood Werx. They sell 5x5 1/8" BB Ply for $19. They ship most stuff, but not plywood. 1/4" for $29.

I wish we had a place around here that sold BB Plywood.  All we have is Hobby Lobby, Michaels and they have small pieces and are not cheap.

I have had my local lumber yard order the BB for me.  This works if you can use full sheets.

Call around to all the different wood places, lumber yards, cabinet makers.  You may be pleasantly surprised.  I need some once and just knew I couldn't get it locally, so I drove 300 mile  (round trip) to get a few sheets.  Next time I needed some I decided to call around first.  First place I called had it, the place makes and sell unfinished furniture.  I also called local lumber yards and most carried it.  ...  Who new??

I have called all the local lumber yards, big box stores they don't have it and say they can't get it.  I just got off ,the phone with Sloan's and ordered some 1/8" BB Ply.  Can't wait to try cutting the pattern of the Dutch Ovens I received here. :)

I buy all my wood at Muterspaw Lumber in Xenia Oh. The real thing when it comes to BB, 1/4 - 1/2 or full sheets.
